I created a number of SCORM 1.2 Captivate lessons, each with a half dozen quiz questions and a Final Assessment lesson which was all quiz questions (over 35 of them). I'm not sure AIR is necessary for Captivate usage, if no, can I modify the "setup. If any of you out there are having problems with playback of SCORMs and quiz questions created in Captivate, I may have found an answer for you: It seem as it is keep on checking something during install payload "Air" and nver pass unless I kill the process of Adobe AIR Application Installer.exe Third party application path:\\pc0118133\c$\SVN\trunk\CLIENT~1\AD1459~1\EXTERN~1\1\payloads\AdobeCaptivateReviewer-mul\AIRApplicationRunner.exeĬommandLine: -airAppPath AdobeCaptivateReviewer.air -airRuntime "Adobe AIR Installer.exe" -desktopShortcut -eulaAccepted -location "C:\Program Files\Adobe" -programMenu -silent Installer Operation: InstallThirdPartyPayloadOperation Thank you for your replay and I found new clue here. So, Design & Production Premium suites can be set to "Access content directly from a distribution point when needed by the running task sequence" so long as the AIR installs are skipped. Even more so, now that the main install works, the Captivate 4.0.1 updater works silently as well using the same methods I've used for Design Premium & Production Premium. Once all the Captivate bits run from a local source, it's happy running as the SYSTEM account. Using the CS4 Deployment Toolkit or using a custom install.xml file (after running Captivate's setup.exe program with the "-record=1" switch) does work, but if Captivate is being deployed via SCCM, in the Advertisement properties within SCCM, the Distribution Points settings must be set to "Download content locally when needed by running task sequence". air applications can't be installed & the installer hangs. air file from the server via the UNC path, thus the. ![]() The two AIR applications cannot be installed from a UNC path while using SCCM because, since the installer obviously needs Admin rights, and thus runs as the SYSTEM account, AIR tries to run as SYSTEM as well and either can't get the cert from Adobe's servers and/or it can't get the. Is there anyway to skip the AIR install for Captivate? I've also tried installing AIR ahead of Captivate, but that made no difference, UberInstaller (or shall we say, NotSoUberInstaller) continues to hang. What I'm stuck with right now is just an otherwise hung AdobeUberInstaller.exe & Setup.exe in the Task Manager. I've tried ripping out the AIRHelp directory & editing the setup.xml file in the payloads directory, but that doesn't seem to work, it just makes the silent installer fail outright. Oh & I'm using Microsoft SCCM 2007 SP2 R2 to do my deployments. Thus I have a good clue as to why the Captivate installer fails. In both of those suites I have the ability to skip the AIR install. I've created silent installers for the CS4 Design Premium & Production premium suites by following this guy's article: I've tried creating an AdobeUberInstaller.xml file by using the CS4 Deployment Toolkit, and while I can successfully create the files and edit the paths so that it actually works, the installer hangs at AIRApplicationRunner.exe according to the logs. This will run the installation of Adobe Captivate 4 silently. ![]() Setup -mode=silent -deploymentFile=install.xml This will suppress the EULA, registration and updates. Rename them to install.xml and remove.xml respectively.Ģ. ![]() Newly create files in the same folder where the setup.exe is and "Adobe Captivate 4.remove.xml" files in the "C:\Programįiles\Common Files\Adobe\Installers" folder. It will record the serial number and the rest of the settingsĬhosen, plus, it will create "Adobe Captivate 4.install.xml" and This will run the setup without installing the software and There are a few steps required before running the silent The knowledge base article # 405451 provides full details: Adobe Captivate 4 uses a different installer technology thanĬaptivate 3 and hence the way silent installation is done has
